Cost of each project will vary depending on materials used.

Instructions:

  • Paint frame Misty White. Paint wooden star Yellow. Allow to dry. Paint words with Pumpkin.

  • With paintbrush, apply Spring Green and Black to Frank stamp. Make sure that the paint has been applied evenly on stamp before stamping it on the frame. This will help you have a sharper stamped image. Allow to dry. After the paint is dry, paint an even coat of Glo Away on Frank's face. This will make him glow.

  • Glue wiggle eyes on.

  • Hot glue star on right corner of frame and make and glue bow on. A Black permanent marker can be used to make dashes around outer edges of frame and of star.

  • Make dots with handle end of brush to fill in if desired.

Instructions:

  • Pumpkin Design Birdhouse: Use ¾-inch flat brush to basecoat as follows: front, back and sides Petunia Purple, base Woodland Brown, fence and craft sticks (6 broken in half) Cloud White, roof eaves and rectangles (shingles) Citrus Green, 1-inch x 2-inch oval, ¾-inch circle, and 1¼-inch circle Tiger Lily Orange, 1¼-inch tear, ¾-inch circle, ½-inch circles and small star Wrought Iron Black, 1-inch oval (cut in two halves) and ledge Sprout Green.

  • Trace and transfer faces to pumpkins and cat. Paint lines on pumpkins with liner and Red Pepper. Paint pumpkin faces with Fiesta Yellow and outline with black. Use liner to paint cat's eyes, mouth and paws with Cloud White and nose with Red Pepper.

  • Glue shingles on roof at random lengths. Break some of the shingles in half to vary the widths. Assemble cat and pumpkins and glue them, along with fence pickets, to birdhouse, referring to photo for placement. Use liner to paint vines next to pumpkin stems with Sprout Green and tail for cat with Wrought Iron Black.

  • Brush shingles and roof eaves with Sprout Green and wipe back with a damp paper towel.

  • Streak fence and fence pickets with a little Wrought Iron Black.

  • Ghost Design Birdhouse: Use ¾-inch flat brush to basecoat as follows: front, back and sides Tiger Lily Orange, roof Petunia Purple, and base Citrus Green.

  • Trace and transfer ghost patterns onto the back of white Sticky Back Foamy and the bats on the black Sticky Back Foamy. Cut out shapes with scissors. Trace and transfer eyes onto birdhouse. Paint eyes with Cloud White and liner.

  • Wind each piece of wire around a pencil or brush handle to curl. Flatten one end of each piece of wire and glue to back of birdhouse.

  • Use permanent marker to draw eyes and mouths on ghosts. Outline and fill in pupils of eyes on birdhouse.

  • Peel backing from Foamy shapes and adhere to wire and birdhouse as desired.

  • Candy Design Birdhouse: Use ¾-inch flat brush to basecoat as follows: front, back and sides Citrus Green, roof Red Pepper, base Sprout Green, 1-inch x 2-inch oval Fiesta Yellow and 1¼-inch circle Cloud White.

  • Trace and transfer patterns randomly or refer to photo for placement.

  • Basecoat each candy piece with Cloud White and No. 8 flat brush. Let dry. Paint candy corn Fiesta Yellow and Tiger Lily Orange, pumpkins Tiger Lily Orange with Sprout Green stems, round candy Petunia Purple with Cloud White wrapper ends. Use liner to do details as follows: pumpkin lines with Red Pepper, candy swirls with Cloud White, outline all pieces with Wrought Iron Black (or use permanent marker).

  • Use brush handle to dip dot open spaces with Wrought Iron Black.

  • Do lettering on sign and ghost eyes with permanent marker.

  • Glue ghost inside opening and sign above opening.

Project Tips:

When painting small objects such as Woodsie pieces, place a strip of double-stick tape on a covered work surface. Place pieces on strip of tape and paint.


Scarecrow Candle Holders

Instructions:

  • Paint two spools Pumpkin. Shade the upper and lower edges of each spool with Georgia Clay. Shade “section” lines for the pumpkins with Georgia Clay.

  • Paint the top and top edge of the spool with Hauser Medium Green.

  • Paint the pumpkin faces with Ebony Black. (Or if doing for Thanksgiving, leave pumpkins plain without a face.)

  • Paint the remaining two spools Sand. Paint Cadmium Yellow hair and bangs at the sides and front of the scarecrow's face (refer to photo). Stroke strands of Raw Sienna hair over the Cadmium Yellow hair areas.

  • Paint the scarecrow's eyes Ebony Black, cheeks DeLane's Cheek Color, nose Pumpkin and mouth Ebony Black.

  • Highlight the eyes and cheeks with Titanium White dots. Optional: Outline nose with Ebony Black.

  • Shade the lower edge of the scarecrow spools with Raw Sienna.

  • Paint the upper edge of the scarecrow spools and the candle cups Ebony Black. Let paint dry thoroughly.

  • Glue the scarecrow spool onto the pumpkin spool with Incredibly Tacky Glue. Glue the candle cup hat onto the scarecrow spool.
